Service Desk - Asset Field

I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere.

We have the Asset field enabled for end users in our service desk ticket queue. The problem is asset types like Licenses and Locations show up in the listing. How do I limit this to certain types of assets such as computers and printers? Thanks

Answer Summary:
You can see the ids by hovering over the types in the assets->asset types page. You could have a field for each type or combine them. Obviously you need to use a query like your other field.

Ok, so I looked at the Location field we use and it pulls from the Assets using an Asset ID. If I could figure out what the asset id's of my other types I could use a custom field. Where to start though? I do not know how to find the Asset IDs of the various types, and would need to play around with the SQL coding to display multiple IDs.

Thanks for the tip. I almost missed the tiny type that popped up in the lower left portion of my screen when I hovered over the type. Now the question becomes how do I get a filter box attached to my single select custom field?

You can't but you should vote for it at http://kace.uservoice.com/forums/82699-k1000
