Remote OS deployment

Hi guys,

I have recently set up our local k2000 server for automated os delivery. Now I have been tasked with planning of setting up the k2000 for remote distribution (off site offices)

Does anyone have any links/guides on this on what I need to get this set up?

Thanks

Mac

You need to setup Remote Site Appliances at your remote offices. RSAs are VMs, so you'll need a VM host of some sort (Windows server, beefy PC that's always on, ESX... some sort of host) at each location. I think there is a bit of documentation in the admin guide for the K2000. It's actually a fairly straight forward process. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll help you out as best I can.

When I setup our roughly 80 RSAs, I just manually created DNS records for all of them. We had no issues linking.

Yes, we had to use the FQDN for hostnames. We had to create our records manually because we use secure DNS updating. It's kind of nice to have full access to the DNS server. [;)]
