We are looking for the ability for users who login to the K1000 portal, to have the ability to select the software they want, and Kace will automatically install the software for them.

The issue right now, is that users will be able to download the software package from K1000, but they will not be able to install it, due to lack of admin rights.

We understand that by pushing software, it installs via the agent automatically. But we need a sort of self-service portal, that will allow users to select what software they want, click a button and the Kace Agent will install the software for them (simulating a software push).... rather than just downloading the package to the machine.

Is this possible? If so how?

This functionality is built-in to the product. You can allow user self-service for software download, software install, or script run. Take a look at the User Console Library under the Service Desk module. Documentation is available as well in the Admin Guide / Help.
