Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had a tool for their help desk to collect important information of customers machines (ie machines not owned or used by the company).  Something like their event log, ip address, computer name ,etc.

Something that was portable and could be run off of usb key, but non technical staff.

Thanks,

If SCCM or other deployment tools are already using in your company then you can find those options in that.

for Dell Systems I remember the DSET-Tool which does this.
Should also run on non Dell systems.

I assume you are working in a repair facility where end users are dropping their systems to get it repaired?

I haven't used it in years, but this worked pretty well in the past:  http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
