MSI binary table file copy after installfinalize CA ?

I have vendor supplied MSI. And added one abc.cfg file in MST. in vendor msi having CA which is running after installfinalize, and it overwrite the same abc.cfg file. I want to copy a file (which is there in MST binary table i.e cab file) to installation directory.

is there any possibilities copy file after installfinalize CA ?

Any possibilities, please assist ...

If you are using Windows Installer functions, then no - there is no way to copy this file after INSTALLFINALZE.
Do you know that the CA does, have you thought about disabling it?

There could be a better way to do this, but off the top of my head.
  1. Place the file down using normal windows installers functions, name the file abc.cfg.bak
  2. Use a CA after the vendor CA to rename the file from abc.cfg.bak to abc.cfg
Its pretty ugly, but hey might work.

If the CFG file is a standard text file then why not add a custom action to run after everything else which basically nukes the existing file then writes out the CFG file line by line using vbscript.
