in few machines working well but in few machines its installing the files in Program files folder but not  creating files in Programdata, only 3 files are created in Progarmdata every time instead of 14 files

I have created a script, it  will install Kace agent, mozilla, flash player, chrome and other few softwares..all softwares are installing well except Kace

Realistically, how would anyone know why that might be?

Add verbose logging to your command line. You can then locate the files which are missing in the relevant component(s) and determine why they're not being installed.

Check the c:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\amp.conf file host= setting. Sometimes the installer does not set it correctly and the machine fails to check in with KACE. Most of the files in the ProgramData folder get created after the first check in.

  • Hi Chuck, thanks ..thats why i always pass this parameter /qb host=10.10.3.10... its sets the amp.conf's files correctly but fails to create few other files in ProgramData, could not figure out why this issue occurs http://i.cubeupload.com/4UJxjA.jpg - rahimpal 8 years ago
    • You may want to see if there is another reason that the machines aren't uploading inventory. Usually if they connect and create the AMP_CONNECTED file everything is fine and an inventory should run. Do you ever see the KInventory process running in task manager? - chucksteel 8 years ago
