How can I find a folder on all PCs
I need to be able to run a report in Dell KACE to identify PCs that contain a certain folder. I tried creating a Software entry for the Folder Name using the FileExists path, but it is not returning any items.

The Secure Folder is in the user's My Documents folder. This may impact the format of the ShellCommandTextReturn format. - greenmg 8 years ago

Create a Custom Inventory Item:
Go to Inventory > Software > Choose Action > New
Go to Inventory > Software > Choose Action > New
Fill the CIR field: ShellCommandTextReturn(cmd /c dir c:\strange_folder /s)
This fills the Custom Inventory with results which are not boolean.
If your CIR consists of boolean results (like FileExitst, which is always true or false) they are not added to the custom inventory and cannot be queried.
Then you can create a report about this CIR.
In your case you have a software item which is true on all machines which has the software installed.
If you click to it you see on the bottom which systems have it.

I am somewhat new to this. Please verify that I am doing this correctly:
I created an inventory item named Secure Folder and put this in the CIR: ShellCommandTextReturn(cmd /c dir c:\Secure Folder/s)
I then created a report with the following filter:
Custom Item Secure Folder is NOT NULL
Report does not return any results.
Please advise. Thanks - greenmg 8 years ago
