Backup failure

I'm getting the following error on my Dashboard:
Critical
K1000 daily backup failed with one or more errors: K1000 Backup failed to run due to insufficient disk space.

How do I free up space?

when you look at your home screen what is consuming all the disk space in the chart?

  • Looks like patches is taking up 48%. Guess I'll work on that. - glenhooper 7 years ago

Once you know where the disk space is being used up then there are methods on how to reduce or clear out old files.

As an example, if there are lots of unused patches then there are settings that you can clear out patches that are not used after X number of days. If a system would need that patch later on it would be re-downloaded to the system.

Check the Samba share for un-used or large files, client-drop mostly is the concern as there usually is only provisioning items in the client folder.

Look for multiple versions of managed installs, maybe there are older versions of Microsoft Office no longer needed or CAD software which can be removed.
