Asset Custom Field Query

We created a custom field called Docking Station under Assets-Monitors.  we want the field to query asset type "Laptop Docks" and be selectable of the Laptops Docks "Asset Unique ID".

Maybe try (writing this on the fly)

query:SELECT ASSET.NAME FROM ASSET WHERE ASSET.ASSET_TYPE_ID = 10202

I think that is right but I will check on Monday when I turn my system back on ;o)

Add a WHERE to the statement, where asset type id is equal to the docking station asset type. You can make these SQL statements quite complex ;o)

ok so i have query:SELECT ASSET_UNIQUE_ID FROM ASSET where ASSET_TYPE_ID = 10202 in the field after saving and going to the custom field it just shows the query in the drop down. I know queries like this work in ticket custom fields. doe it not work in asset custom fields?
