5.2 release

Anyone using the 5.2 release yet? I received an email from Dell saying I am in the first wave to receive the new version.
Just wondering if anyone has had any issues after installing.

Hi,

We got our upgraded yesterday and didn't have any issues upgrading to 5.2. We are exploring it now to see if anything doesn't work as normal but have yet to find anything wrong.

nshah, with your upgrade, did you keep using the same Windows agent on your client computers? Or are you upgrading to the new Windows agent, either manually or automatically?

It's this "all new" Windows agent that makes me the most nervous. Even though we've never had problems with any Windows agents... Sande

snissen- Unless you know something I don't, 5.2 does not have an agent upgrade at this time. The server is being released first; The new agent will come later.
As a side note I've been using 5.2 Server (and development version of agent) for some time and have no issues. In my personal opinion- This 5.2 release can be trusted just like the last 6 years of updates that have gone smooth as silk. I admit I'm a bit biased, but I've never had a problem with any Kace releases; and I've used them all since 1.0. Engineering and Q/A work hard to make sure that is always the experience.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't know the new agent wasn't ready yet.

Since it's just server-side, we'll look for it as soon as possible!

Hey, Dell KACE folks:

It would be nice if the 5.2 documentation were available soon, so we could anticipate the changes. (Assuming it's finished, of course.) Please?

I just checked the Support Documentation link, and the PDFs there are still for version 5.1. Sande

Hi.

Lucky you. I have some new Issues, except all of my old issues which are still there.

New for me at 5.2:
- Software/ Software detail/ Record created date/time goes together with the real time
- No graphs at the home tab 'cause auf localisation
- No continous time format. Sometimes using 12 hours and sometimes 24 hours
- Patching result at machine detail pages differ to the patch schedule results for the same machine.

So I see that the 5.2 Release Candidate is posted on Kace's website for download. Does anyone know when Kace plans to release the GA version of 5.2?

But the downloadable, printable (.PDF) documentation is still version 5.1.

Hey, Dell KACE, some of us really do print and read the documentation--please update it! Sande

KevinG, I think what darkhawktman is referring to is the fact that 5.2.38773 is posted in Downloads, but in the release notes that version is listed as RC, not GA.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean.

RC=GA in this instance, but the release notes don't reflect that; sorry for any confusion. 5.2.38773 is the GA Release.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
