Empirum selected by Nexus Management for remote PC Lifecycle Management through VPN access

Empirum Allows Remote PC Lifecycle Management in the Managed Service Provider Model

Atlanta, Georgia – September 17, 2002, OuterBounds Technologies, Inc. (www.outerbounds.com), an end-to-end Application Service Provider and provider of enterprise desktop management solutions, today announced that Nexus Management has selected Empirum® PRO Suite to enhance their Enterprise Management Systems (EMS) strategic workstation management initiative offering. By leveraging Empirum with Nexus’ Integrated Secure Communication Solution (ISCS) VPN technology, Nexus Management will remotely manage their customer’s PC Lifecycles, including operating system installations, software distribution, application updates and desktop disaster recovery, creating a new dimension to their managed services offering.

Nexus ManagementÂ’s service offerings consist of proactive network support, helpdesk support, remote network monitoring, and desktop support. Empirum will add remote functionality to the EMS desktop support feature, virtually eliminating on-site visits to locations for desktop maintenance. The unattended features of Empirum will reduce on-site support costs and reduce support response times for Nexus ManagementÂ’s EMS clients.

The Empirum® PRO Suite’s robust features will automate the PC Lifecycle Management of Nexus Management’s clients. With Empirum, Nexus Management can remotely perform unattended operating system installations, electronic software distribution, and automatic installations of critical updates. Empirum will provide an automated software management infrastructure as well, complete with hardware/ software asset discovery and disaster recovery, including personal settings and data, controlled from a centralized management console.
