Note
The vendor's installer for this app has a very hard time with UNC paths. If you want to do a network install, I recommend you copy the install.xml "answer" file to a local directory on the workstation, and then call it like so:

"<your network location>\setup.exe" --mode=Silent --deploymentFile="<local directory>\install.xml"

Mapping a drive to the network location also seems to work (but could be problematic depending on your environment):

"Q:\Adobe CS3\setup.exe" --mode=Silent --deploymentFile="Q:\Adobe CS3\install.xml"

Note
If you'd like to stream the patches as part of the install, most of the updates can be executed with the '-silent' option to run silently, and Acrobat uses .msp files for updates.

Unfortunately each update must be run in order so in some cases you have to track down the older updates (Acrobat) install them first and then install the newer updates in order. I found 11 updates needed to be installed as of 3/11/08.

Note
CS 3 Web Premium for some strange reasons dislike other CS 3 suite products on selected PCs.

My case is that on a pc with Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1.2 installed, the silent installer would yield an exit code of '7'.

After removing the Acrobat Professional from the PC, silent install seems to exit normally.

Note

Error returned (installing silent): If you try to install this applicaton on Windows 7 , error returned would be 7.

This application is not supportd on windows 7 . Link

So in order to get the same installed on windows 7 , you have to remove OS check that are placed in the following files :

  • Adobe CS3\payloads\AdobeContribute4.1en_US\AdobeContribute4.1en_US.proxy.xml
  • Adobe CS3\payloads\AdobeDreamweaver9en_US\AdobeDreamweaver9en_US.proxy.xml
  • Adobe CS3\payloads\AdobeIllustrator13en_US\AdobeIllustrator13en_US.proxy.xml
  • Adobe CS3\payloads\AdobePhotoshop10en_US\AdobePhotoshop10en_US.proxy.xml
  • Adobe CS3\payloads\AdobeVersionCue3All\AdobeVersionCue3All.proxy.xml
  • Adobe CS3\payloads\AdobeWebSuitePremiumen_US\AdobeWebSuitePremiumen_US.proxy.xml

Once this is done you can install this version on Windows 7 machine .

What else i have changed :

1. Added files "Adobe CS3\payloads\AdobeWebSuitePremiumen_US\application.xml.override"

Content of this files were :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<Configuration>

<Payload>

 <Data key="Serial" protected="0">XXXXXXXXXXXXX</Data>

 <Data key="Registration">Suppress</Data>

 <Data key="EULA">Suppress</Data>

 <Data key="Updates">Suppress</Data>

</Payload>

</Configuration>

Command line to install : setup.exe --mode=Silent --deploymentFile="install.xml" --codeSkipProcess=1

If codeSkipProcess is not added then you would be prompted to close microsoft applicaiton i.e. Oulook , word etc

Hope this helps .
