WinZip 14.0 Installation Issues

After sucessfully deploying Winzip for years 14 seems to have introduced a number of issues.

- WinZip launches at the end of setup even though RUNWINZIP property is set to 0 and the UILevel is 2.
- Even though advertised shortcuts are in the package, standard shortcuts are created.
- Removing standard shortcuts and replacing with new Advertised shortcut is overwritten by standard a shortcut.
- Uninstalling WinZip causes Internet Explorer to launch and no obvious way of disabling this.
- When installing from an admin install then path or original install point is used and not another distribution point.
- Shortcuts created from an install from an admin installation point to the network admin install point and not locally.

Although a couple of these can be worked around, such as the WinZip Launching by disabling the RunWinZip custom action, I was interested if anyone had sucessfully used the built in properties and had any experience/workarounds for the other issues

Thanks

Check DISABLEADVTSHORTCUT property in your package that is causing the issue,

Is there a property named AdminProperties. Remove this in mst and the administrative install will work without problems.

- WinZip launches at the end of setup even though RUNWINZIP property is set to 0 and the UILevel is 2.

This doesn't come if you install application with /qb switch.

- Even though advertised shortcuts are in the package, standard shortcuts are created.
- Removing standard shortcuts and replacing with new Advertised shortcut is overwritten by standard a shortcut.

Above issues can be resolved as per suggestion by Yaduveer.

- Uninstalling WinZip causes Internet Explorer to launch and no obvious way of disabling this.

You have already resolved Internet Explorer launch issue after uninstall by setting SHOW_WEBPAGE to 0.

- When installing from an admin install then path or original install point is used and not another distribution point.
- Shortcuts created from an install from an admin installation point to the network admin install point and not locally.

This can be resolved by Commenting SetWzInstPath custom action.
