Windows Media Player 11

So i was able to create an MSI through Windows Media Player EDP but the only problem is that it's not uninstalling the previous version. When i look under ARP i see Media Player installed but when i launch it from the shortcut it opens the older version. Have any of you experiencing the same thing?
