Where are the settings changes saved?

I have a silent install configured for VMware Workstation 5. All is well with this, but I want to change some View settings and Preferences. I can do this manually once the app is launched but I want to be able to make these changes before the first launch. Why? Well the most annoying reason is because the software updates setting is such that the first time the app runs it wants to check for updates. I have tried usinga ZENworks snapshot of these changes made manually but what is caught does not work. I have looked at the Registry, INI files and I cannot see where these changes are saved. Does anyone have a clue as to how I can accomplish this?

Have you tried using RegMon or FileMon from sysinternals.com? Make sure you turn off any Anti-Virus before running them or you'll get log files filled with activity you don't care about. Anyhow, these tools are a favorite for monitoring what files or registry keys are changed. You can also filter by Modified, or Value Set actions that were performed on the registry and file system to make the logs easier to read.

Also, are the changes per user or system wide changes? This would impact how they get implemented.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
