Uninstalling previous version

Thank you before hand for your time.
I have a very weird issue. I'm trying to uninstall a previous version of msi using new version by adding a row in the Upgrade table.
the issue here is while I am trying to run the new version msi it thinks it is running a older version that is already installed.
Does anyone know why.?
The product guid's are different and the upgrade code I tried with the same and different aswell but it does't change the behaviour.
Any help would be appreciated.

Which is it you want to do, uninstall the old then install the new or upgrade the old to the new? They're not quite the same thing.
