Start/stop/add service's?

I have been given an application that I am going to have to build from scratch, adding files, shortcuts etc manually. This package is going to need services to be added. Can anyone help me how to tackle this job? What information do I NEED as a minimum to install and start a service with my package? Thanks in advance...

Ok, if I have the exe required for the service do I got to (Using Installshield 12) Advanced Settings of component, with the exe in question contained in the component. In Setup Design, then Install NT service, create it and name it and that should work for a basic service?

Can anyone confirm or deny?
Cheers

take a look at the servicecontrol tables MSI has built in support for stopping starting and adding services. Its relatively straight forward to implement from the tables with the aid of the sdk.

I am unfamiliar with version 12 of IS.
