Short path issue
Hi ,
I Have packaged one application,for "shortapth" name in directory table to INSTALLDIR I kept as MYAPPI~1|My Applications,
After installing this application , I am not able to find that shortpath name
I tried like this:
c:\cd Progra~1
c:\Progra~1>cd MYAPPI~1
Error message :System cannot find the path specified
Where I would have gone wrong , What I need to check or change,
Please help me, Hope I conveyed question properly

The short path for a directory called 'My Applications' would be 'MYAPPL~1' not 'myappi~1' as you've got it down as. Assuming that there isn't another directory already there that starts 'my appl....' - like 'my apples'.
If you open a DOS window and go into Program Files you will be able to run a dir /x which will show you the 8.3 names for the folders.
Even though you've specified it in the package you can't force a short name that doesn't match with the long name.
