Script to disable CD burning on select group of PCs

Can anyone help me with a script that I can apply to a select group of PCs that will disable the ability for windows or third party software to burn cd's?  The OS is all Windows 7 with a few Vista.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Use Group Policy. Much simpler and you can obviously scope it according to AD group membership.
