Registering a .dll

Hello,

I have a .dll named “cympisrch.dll” that is located in the folder C:\PHS\VER10.

However, when I run “regsvr32 C:\PHS\VER10\cympisrch.dll” (w/o “”) I get the error message “Load library (C:\PHS\VER10\cympisrch.dll) failed – the specified module could not be found”

I’m sure it’s a syntax error as the path is correct. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

GLB

Are you sure this dll needs registering? If you are unsure then maybe contact the vendor and get some info about it.

If I cd to the directory/folder of the .dll, and then run regsvr32, I get "LoadLibrary ("cympisrch.dll") failed GetLastError returns 0x0000007e". Would this be indicative of a dependency issue?

Thanks,

GLB

Just Googled the error code and this doesn't appear to be dependency issue...thanks though.

This still could be a dependency issue. Some DLL's require that other DLL's are registered first...

Hej GLB,

This is my theory;

1. There are other .dll files or .inf or .ocx files that you also need to register.
2. Try to copy the .dll file on WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 and try to register again.
