Acrobat is already in MSI format, although concealed in a set-up executable. You should not capture MSIs.

Also, because of the MSI's complexity, Adobe provides a customisation tool which you can use to create a transform which you then apply to the MSI from the command line or as part of your deployment.

Use AppDeploy's Search facility and the 'Package KB': all the information you require is there, including how to stop users being prompted to update, etc, etc.

If I recall correctly, the volume license release definitely extracts and runs an MSI.

- Delete junk from the %TEMP% folder. That is, not %SystemRoot%\TEMP, but the 'Temp' folder for the currently logged-in user.
- After running the EXE, stop at the first screen.
- Then check your %TEMP% folder again. There should be an MSI there, although it may have a strange name. This is the MSI to use. Copy it somewhere, then cancel out of the EXE.

You may not have found answers to your problem via the Search facility because you're looking for the wrong things. Once you have abandoned trying to capture the setup into an MSI and begin using the proper MSI, those problems shouldn't occur. Search purely for 'Acrobat' and 'customisation'.

An MST is what you want, so that you can apply it TO the MSI.

Reading between the lines, I think your issue is that you don't know how to use a transform with an MSI when deploying with Tivoli, that you only know how to add an MSI. Would that be right?

You won't be able to apply the patch that way. Try creating an Administrative Install Point (AIP), patch that and then use the patched MSI with your transforms:

-Create the AIP :
msiexec.exe /a acropro.msi

When prompted for a location, select a network share to which all your users have read access. The MSI will extract all its files to the AIP and deposit a revised MSI there, too. For our example, let's say you used 'X:\Apps\AcroPro'

- Patch the AIP:
msiexec.exe /a acropro.msi /p acrobatUpd810.msp

- Install to a test workstation using the AIP version of the MSI. Note how I have included the language transform. Note also that, as I ALWAYS do when testing installs, I have specified a verbose log:
msiexec.exe /i X:\Apps\AcroPro\acropro.msi TRANFORMS="1031.mst;acropro.mst" /qb /l*v %temp%\acropro.log

I don't know how I can help you further. Repackaging this MSI is even more of a problem than it would be normally, as it is quite a complex construction.

If Tivoli can deploy EXEs, how about creating a WiseScript wrapper which contains the MSI and MST, copies them locally and then executes MSIExec against them? Failing that, pop out to your local branch of Decathalon, purchase the heaviest baseball bat you can find and take a walk to the office of whoever it was decided to limit deployments to a single MSI.

normaly i use wise web capture first snapshot install appli and create msi , edite msi with orca or wise editor and change 2 or more option in is ready,but adobe really hardess, not ready error all time with adobe.

normaly i use wise web capture first LOL...you must be one of the very few WPS users who does use Web Capture! Can I ask why? I think it's fair to say that pretty much everyone else just uses SetupCapture (with SmartMonitor off, of course, except for hardware drivers and such)
