Packaging silverlight

Hi,

I m repackaging silverlight 4.0

Its a vendor msi which extracts a msi and msp

How to start packaging it

I created admin image of the msi according to the post in appdeploy which merges the patch in the msi and also creates a folder named PFiles which consists of files which are installed when we just install the msi..so wen i try installing wothout the folder the msi gves me error saying cannot find files , error reading the files.

Can nybody help on it please...

One, you have posted in the wrong forum. This forum is for dealing with errors returned by the Windows Instaler engine. See the link 'MSI Errors' for examples of such errors. A moderator may well move the thread to the proper forum, 'Package Development'.

Two, you clearly don't understand what an Administrative Installation Point is. Google the term, read and digest.

Hi Sequencers,

u should be having the files (PFiles folder) for installation of the package.


But the issue i'm facing is when upgrading the existing versions. All versions of this package is having the same product code.
fresh installation is clean.. but in case of upgrading the existing version how to proceed with.. any ideas ?? pls share..
