Office 365 Patching error - error (Simultaneous patching tasks received. Skipping this execution.)

I keep getting the above error and I don't know what its saying? I have a schedule to install Office 365 updates on a single computer.

  • Just a little more info, it gets all the way to the point where it sends the notify to the user but never deploys. - jrunkles1221 3 years ago
  • Looks like you are right, looking at the processes it has the update.exe but is not doing anything, it seems to be stuck on deploy status. - jrunkles1221 3 years ago
  • Im getting this on a dell driver detect. Nothing is running but there is a WIndows patch scheduled for the weekend. Do I have to cancel the windows patch to get th dell driver detect to run? Seems silly. Sorry to revive this old question. - barchetta 2 years ago

review your patch settings.

The "error message" says what it is: there is a patching task scheduled and the new task will just canceled since the old task is not yet finished.
