[Office 2003] Migration from professional to standard
Hello!
Does anybody know to change office professional to standard keeping existing settings, like PKI oraz pst files for MS Outlook?
Well I use unattended installation of office 2003 prof, however I need to change professional into standard on existing installations. There are many settings, mostly for MS Outlook that I'd like to keep.
I haven't checked it yet - is it possible to install standard version on existing professional? It seems to be a "downgrade".
Are there any uninstallation switches making possiblility to remove application without removing settings?
Big thx for any help!

I don't believe you can "downgrade" Office in the way you seem to imply: if nothing else, the Product Codes are different and will have implications for updates, patches and so on. If you had the idea that these could be changed, I think they *probably* could, but you'd have a massive task on your hands, trawling through the registry, matching features to Product Code, components to features, etc and updating them accordingly. Not pretty.
I think you're going to have to do an uninstall/re-install. Any customisations ought to be retained, since they're unlikely to have been part of the original roll-out but, if you have specific requirements, you'd best build some Custom Actions to back-up what you need retained.
