MSI Repair - Forcing repair to re-install app instead of repair it

Is there anyway, when Repair is selected for an MSI, to force the MSI Repair to completely un-install then re-install the app, instead of doing a normal repair?

I ask this because I have an MSI that installs fine, but whenever a Repair is selected by the user, the Repair breaks the app and only an un-install/re-install of the MSI cures it.

Anyone know of a way to make a Repair do an un-install/re-install of the app?

I'd either fix the MSI so the repair doesn't break the app, or disable the repair button in Add/Remove.

Thanks for the reply, the MSI is riddled with custom actions, when I try and remove a custom action that I think is causing the problem it breaks the MSI. I think disabling repair is the easiest solution.

Is there is too many CA present in the MSI?

Find out the CA which is excatly causing the problem and change the CA

condition to Not Installed.

check the msi log and see where it is breaking...

thanks,

venki.
