MSI installation command will not install correctly

Hi All,

When creating a distribution package using an msi, if I specify the command to run in the Installtion Command line, it will produce the list of msi switches upon download and install call, basically reading as a bad or invalid command.  If I run the exact same command line from a command prompt or bat file, it installs correctly.  What is the trick to using the Installation command?  Right now I just create a "setup.bat" with that command and it works but I'd rather skip this step and do it properly.

  • Can you show us your command line? - dj_xest 10 years ago
  • msiexec.exe /passive /i iatriscan.msi
If I have set in the installation command field it will not run, if I run from comand prompt or .bat file it runs perfectly. - jmmctighe 10 years ago
  • Try putting quotes in your command line like: msiexec.exe /i "iatriscan.msi" /passive or check without any switches in the command line for full installation. - GuruDev 10 years ago
