I'm getting pretty fed up with this...

Why can't people READ the other posts in this forum? This subject came up on the same page you posted on! You don't even need to use 'Search' to find your answer!

BEFORE posting:
- Read the forum posts, especially the one at the top entitled Newcomers Read This First!
- Use the 'Search' facility
- Use Google
- Read the documentation
- Get on a course.

WHEN posting:
- Don't use ridiculously vague titles for your post! 'MSI' doesn't *REALLY* explain what your problem is, does it? In this case, perhaps it ought to have been "Too bone idle to help myself, can you do my job for me, please?"

VBScab, the reason why appdeploy has come this far is because all members are not so brilliant like you. they will not post that query in appdeploy if they can just find it in google or any search engine. what I mean to say is perhaps it's his only way of finding an interaction with other members and he wants to be noticed. well, he just did..

First, I am a long way from being brilliant. Many times before replying here (and elsewhere) I need to confirm my initial thoughts and use my own resources, as well as AppDeploy's and the search engines, to do so. Second, have you been following the activity here recently? Even a cursory glance at recent posts will plainly illustrate that that is *EXACTLY* what these posters do. How much more information does anybody need on, say self-healing? That's what frustrates me and others. I mean, just *LOOK* at this post's Subject line..........I'll bet this guy drives his car into the garage and says "It doesn't work." "What exactly is the problem, sir?" "It doesn't work. You're the experts, fix it for me."

Look out for more posts from me with a simple Google link. Maybe - just maybe - the message might sink in.

Totally agree with you Ian. So give me some rating points...JKJK! [;)]

Even as a newb to scripting and packaging (oh, those 5 long years ago!...) I would RTFM as much as I could and google etc. before posting to a forum. Hell, if you google me or search here you'll see some pretty dumb stuff. I am far from brilliant, but I do feel an obligation to learn enough to at least frame the question succinctly.

Still, it's not quite as annoying as those who want scripts written for them: "can i get a script to find and replace text?" what, there's not 1000 sample scripts already for that? [:@]

You're right VBScab in the sense that posters should do what you have stated above. But I guessed, nothing can change that especially if you're doing that kind of help. I bet that guy will not post anymore and if he's driving his car in a garage will say, "My car doesn't work." "What exactly is the problem, sir?" "My car doesn't work." "Are you dumb, sir? Are you sure know how to drive? Can't you see? There's no gas!" "Ah ok. You're fired! I'll find another expert!"
If they are new members, you should have welcomed them and lied your thoughts in a nice way. Otherwise, they will not come back on the site... and no appdeploy today..

The thing is.. if you don't want to be annoyed, don't answer that post!

I disagree. They'll come back when they require an answer to a *sensible* question. Or maybe they'll have read-up to such a degree that they'll be posting answers. Oink, flap...
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
