Looking to create either a label or a report to indentify workstations that have a specific file present on their hard drive.

Hello, I am pretty novice when it comes to Kace reports and labels and have zero experience with SQL. Is there a way to use the Kace label or report wizard to identify PCs that have a specific file present on their C: drive?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

OK so the first thing you will need to do is to setup a custom inventory item, this will then display a dummy piece of software on any machine that your file is present. It then becomes pretty easy to sort those machines with the dummy software into a smart label.

To create a custom inventory item click on Inventory>Software then Choose Action>New

Give your software a title and then scroll down to the Custom Inventory Item field.

Click the small blue question mark next to Custom Inventory to display all of the options and choose the best option to build your rule
