i believe most java apps when installed present u with a control panel applet. open the applet , go to update tab, uncheck check for updates automatically. Next go to advanced tab and expand the JRE autodownload option andchoose never auto download option. in this whole procedure, making use of prism or installrite to capture changes done during the whole process.....i'm sure you will find necessary files and registry
