Install Script Option is Disappear in MST

Question

Hi Folk,
 I'm a new user of Install Shield 10.5. I created a MST with Basic MSI. In Behaviour and logic option INSTALL SCRIPT option is gone and I have to add some VB script. Please help. Another question Media Option is totally gone and I have to modify my Path Variable. I'm in a middle of a project and stuck. Please Gurus help your new user.

My guess is you are opening the MST in Installshield Tuner, you cannot view all the options in the tuner. once the MST is created save it and open the MST in the Developer, it will prompt for the msi after selecting the MST, in the develper you will have all the options you were missing in the Tuner.

 Thanks for your quick reply. I create through Transform Wizard. File--New--transform is that the right way or not..But i'm sure I did not do the Tuner. And then I save it as .mst and open in IS Editor. Am I doing the right way..

i checked that again and even if you open the mst in the developer you cannot see the INSTALLSCRIPT OPTION, or the media OPTION. 
 
 What you can do is Click on the Custom Action under Behaviour and Logic, and right click on the Custom Action in the right side window and select new Vb Script for adding a VBScript.

 Thanks again. My old project which was in IS5.5. Had a dir.structure as follows.
 Behaviour and logic\InstallScript\[Folder]Files\setup.rul
 Behaviour and logic\InstallScript\[Folder]Functions\all Different functions.
 These functions are been called in custome actions.
 Where should I add my.RUL file and then add those functions. Please help.Thank you so much for your quick response. If I resolve this I can finish half of my project.

You are trying to add installscripts to your project not vbscripts , i am not sure how to add a new installscript to a mst. there are options to add vbscript or jscript...

one way 
 
 you have to convert that back to ism then add the script files in the developer studio.
 
 to convert it to a ism again , click file open then select the msi and under the open as option select the wizard, it will prompt to convert MSI/MSM to an installshield project.

 So according to you open an Msi in ism and update that with installscript and then create an Mst. Or convert that Mst to msi but if do this we create mst from existing msi.Shall we update the msi. Confuse. Need more help..thank you so much for your kindly help.

we are converting the msi to ism, we then  incorporate all the changes that you put in MST in the ISM , then Build the ISM to an MSI again, we are going back to an ISM and Building a NEW MSI, we are just using the old MSI to COnver it to a ISM, then we build our MSI with all desired changes, NO MST.
 
 But hold on a sec,
 why are you trying to add the custom action from your old msi ?

Hi Bheers,
 The old Msi is vendor msi for this project. For the dept changes I created an MST. But it is not working that way. So I will convert the new mst to ism and build new msi which will have all the ne changes. This way we will not need mst. Correct me If I'm wrong.

do not open the msi installshield convert it to ism using the above procedure.
 
 File -? Open browse to the msi, select the msi , before clicking the ok button in the bottom of the window, there is a Option "Open As"  select the wizard, and click ok, it will prompt to convert MSI/MSM to an installshield project. select that one and click ok

1. DB2 Connection.. do you mean to say ODBC Connection ,

 2. COM extract will work and also you can select self register when you click on the component- File - Properties and check selfregister.

 I'm getting RUN TIME ERROR -2147024770 (8007007e) Module could not be found.
 It is happening when I open one the app.exe. Any suggession..Please let me know as early as possible..

have you tried regmon and filemon, also try opening that exe in dependancy walker and see if all the dlls that it lists are present on the system and registered.
 
 also post seperate issue in a different post rather than in one if its completly different issue

 I need your help very badly. Please help . I'm trying to do nested msi. I did add msi through nested in custom action. Now I need to remove old vendor installation from binary table. I think I'm confuse in binary table where should I look for it. That is a first time I'm doing  nested installation and playing with custom action. please chat with me tommorow if possible.
