I think on the contrary this is quite an interesting field with all the new techs evolving ,I agree it is majorly tool based but the pilot pulling all the strings needs to have proper knowledge e.g system registry OS and yeah there is a bit of scripting too....when it comes to deployment its also interesting to see how the application behaves differently on different environments all in all we are the Last Line of defense in a large scale org before the application goes out and messes up something in a large scale env...[:D] ...we work on VMware may be pretty much basic but we can start shaping careers in that direction..also we work on virtualization APP-V....the ...If you get an exposure on imaging also you can work on that and the end result is full scale enterprise level infrastructure expert specailists in handling client systems enviorement.Troubleshooting is on of the things I agree is the best....ALL IN ALL my personal opinion is you get to try your hands on everything [8|] I love it [:)]
