ICE38 Question
ICE38
"Component Component2 installs to user profile. It must use a registry key under HKCU as its KeyPath. The KeyPath is currently NULL."
Just wondering if this is a show stopper or potential issues...
Basically, this is a URL file. It installs to one directory under windows but the Component GUID points to the profile directory.
Thanks

Could you be more specific where the file will be installed?
If the file will be located in WindowsFolder (C:\WINDOWS) then that woudln't make it a user file ;)
If the component do not have a keypath the resource(s) for the component will not be repaired if required as the directory of the component will be used instead.

hmm I'm abit confused.
You first state that the component's keypath is NULL that is, the KeyPath column in the Component table is empty for that component.
The last post: The file is set as the keypath.
So if I have understood you, you only have a URL file in this component right?
Just of interest: why would you install the URL file into the "[WindowsFolder]Applications\Market Data\myappname" directory path?
