How to install Cleanwipe.exe (Symantec EPP removal) silently.

Hi,

We have installed Server version of EPP on client machines by mistake. Now we need to remove the server version of EPP from all the clients.
We have Cleanwipe.exe to remove the EPP from the machines, but how to deploy this exe files on the client to run silently.

Thanks

  • Thanks for your reply. I have only 2 files. CleanWipe.exe & CleanWipe.db. In the link provided it is mentioned to execute the below command.
    psexec \\@Alive.txt -w c:\cleanwipe\app\ c:\CleanWipe\app\RunCleanWipe.bat -silent

Could you let me know what is there in bat file.

Thanks. - rvprasad 8 years ago
    • 1. Copy the CleanWipe folder to the target computer.
      2. Open the CleanWipe folder and double-click the CleanWipe.exe file.
      3. When you are prompted, browse to a location where you want the files to be copied and then click Start to extract the files.
If you click Start without selecting a location, the files are extracted to the Windows\Temp folder.
      4. If you are asked if you want to run CleanWipe now, click No.
      5. Open a command prompt and change directory to the CleanWipe\app folder.
      6. Type the following command:
      RunCleanWipe -silent
      7. CleanWipe then uses its defaults to run without any user input. - apptopack 8 years ago
      • Thanks Vignesh for the reply.
I followed the steps mentioned above. Bu i could't find RunCleanWipe file in the extracted location.
        Below are the files extracted.
        1. CleanWipe.txt
        2. CleanWipeState.db

Could you confirm what is the file extension of RunCleanWipe file. And advise.

Thanks. - rvprasad 8 years ago

Check this link - http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/cleanwipe-12120152015-no-silent

Latest versions of cleanwipe doesn't support silent install. Instead try SEPPrep.
