How to add download link for redistributables

My application is dependent on VC redistributables. I am checking if its already installed on the machine using registry keys. If its not there i give up a popup message asking the user to download and install the vc redist first.

How to add a download link to vcredist on the same popup message and continue with the installation once vcredist is downloaded?

will the installation continue atuomatically once the vcredist is downloaded or some flag has to be set?

It would be simpler for you and your user to include the redistributable, either as a separate file on your ditribution media, as part of a set-up stub or (my preferred method for this particular chestnut) as a merge module for the dependent application.

Great strategy. What will you do for other Vista-based problems? Ask the user to download the original set-up program and sort it out themselves?

What was the problem with registration?

Takes Ian's other option... sounds like it will be more suited to you - just include the redist as a prerequsite program...
