I've been trying to figure out how to get Windows 8.1 to boot directly to the desktop for all users. So far I couldn't find any way to do it.

I found the answer here: http://www.mdt2012.com/content/windows-81-boot-directly-desktop-machine-registry-key and it works. I then created a Powershell script to use with KACE K2000 box.

Create a dword value in HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\
Key name: GoToDesktopOnSignIn
Value: 1 (boots directly to desktop) or 0 (boots to start screen)
