Feature ON/OFF with ORCA

I am trying to edit a vendor application using ORCA...ALL i wan to do is to turn some features ON or OFF in the custom setup dialogue window by using ORCA...

I was thinking feature table might be the key table because some feature did turn on but I could not do it for all other features that I want to edit... Can you please help me with some tips...

Thanks

I believe you can see all features in the Feature table.
From the components you want to add you remember the name from the Feature column.
The next thing is to create a new row in the Property table,
the property value becomes ADDLOCAL and in the Value column you fill in the features you want to install separated by a comma.

Hi Farid,
to do that, first go to the property table and look for property named 'INSTALLLEVEL'. If its there, remember its value.
Afterwards, go to the feature table and set the value in level column oft the feature to turn off, to a value which is greater than 'INSTALLLEVEL'. If 'INSTALLEVEL' is not defined, it defaults to 1. 'INSTALLLEVEL' could also be changed from a dialog or a custom action. To be on the safe side, raise it to 500 or so.
Hope this helps,
Regards, Nick

Thank you guys for your generous ideas....I willl apply both concepts and get back to you with results....
Jus to let you know that the features that did turn ON using feature table and the INSTALLLEVEL property are features that have no parents. ON the other hand, features that are subfeatures of others could not turn on...

If you still have any ideas please let me know....However, I will still get back to you with results..

Thanks

Thank you GUYS

I did make some features on using both Level field and the attribute fields in the fearures table.
However, here is the thing,,,After making all changes to features table and also to the property table since the vendors msi has some properties that should be changed according to where the users his or server point to...So After all these changes, the msi seems to iwork only when I install it in full dialogue mode and not when I install it in quiet basic mode...

Could you guys please help me to solve this issue....It is really weird....

Just for your knowledge I am working on a Snarteam Application

Thanks

Hi Farid,
have a look at the condition table. Maybe there are some conditions set, which enable/disable certain features.

Thanks Nick

Just to make things clearer...My Msi is Smarteam Application...It is a vendors Msi. It is client/server application.. I did all what you guys told me plus some research all around the forums..But still my msi
works only when I installed it in Full dialoque mode (UI) but not when I run in quiet mode (/QB) even I dont have any errors in both installs.

This is what I did
>> I changed the Features Table by just altering the attribute field value to 24 or 18 in hex.
>> I then went to the property table and entered some values in some predefined properties by the vendor
====> Properties like whether install is client or standalone, or whether UserLicence is Local or over Network
====> Plus The location of Server...
====> These properties are the ones the user will be prompted for if the msi is run in dialogue
mode.

So Like I said I choose to run the msi GUI mode, it will just work fine..But I used the /QB it will install fine but does not work properly by connecting to its server.

I am really confused...I checked all conditions...There is nothing that would tell me how to fix this problem..

Thanks

Install with verbose log; both with full UI and quite mode.
Compare the log files and see what differs, maybe that can help you in narrowing down what to look for.
