Execute script while installing
Hello!
Basically what Im trying to do (still no success) is to execute some script while installing. I don't care about if it's before, after of while installing, I just want this script to be executed somewhere in the time.
The best would be to get my VBS file in a MST then apply this MST to my MSI.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks!

check this out. There are several custom actions capable of running a vbscript.

well it kind of depends on what you want to do. there's a number of ways of doing this, for example you can have an embedded vbscript which does something, or a vbscript file which is installed with the installation itself. If you're calling the vbscript file, the timing of the action would have to be after the file is installed. With an embedded script you have more flexibility. Also you will want to condition your action (NOT Installed) or (REMOVE ="ALL") if it's something you want to have done on installation but not on removal, or vice versa. With these types of actions, error control is really the responsibility of the developer; very little windows installer can do once a vbscript is kicked off.
if you want specific examples, altiris.com (Wise) has some good discussion groups. Do a search on vbscript, i'm sure you'll come up with something. Good luck!
hope this helps more.
