Error 1606
Hi,
i´m learning package development in my new job, but i have problems with my first package, i have to create a shorcut that is in a network location and i don´t have access to it. The error is "Could not access network location ...."
I think the solution is a Costum Action with Set Property but i don´t know what PRoperty value is the correct for i can install the shortcut without network location access, can you help me?

Why not write a vb script or wise script which runs the network exe file, add your script to the MSI and have your shortcut point to the script (rather than directly to the network location).
Otherwise you could create a property with a value of the shortcut target (e.g. T:\Apps\MyApp.exe) then have your shortcut point to the property - however you won't be able to advertise your shortcut if you do this...
"For a non-advertised shortcut, the installer evaluates this field as a Formatted string. The field should contains a property identifier enclosed by square brackets ([ ]), that is expanded into the file or a folder pointed to by the shortcut." taken from here.
Cheers,
Rob.
