I've copied the Updated XML under the appropriate directories but when i install the MSI my UPDATED XML file does not install.
Files size remains 1kb ? i don't know what i am doing wrong here.

how are you copying these files? In your MSI? If so, have you taken into account CU settings/files & how to properly populate these? Also look through ur install sequence & make sure there is no CA creating the prefs post file copy...

I am also trying to disable the option to "Check for Updates" that is under the 'Help' Menu options in iTunes 8.

I have read the Packaging guides and have done the following:

1) Changed Property 'SCHEDULE_ASUW' from '1' to '0'.

2) Created the two .xml files. I used a CA to put the 'xml' files into user's profile. I have configured the 'xml' files to deselect 'Check for updates automatically' under 'iTunes' - Menu 'Edit'- 'Preferences' - 'General'.

Doing this deselects 'Check for updates automatically', but doesn't disable 'Check for updates' under the 'Help' Menu.

Does anyone know if this is possile? I don't think it is...

Cheers.
