Creating MSI of Rational Application Developer 6.0 Package
Hi,
I have Rational Application Developer 6.0 Package. It has 4 CD's. When I capture the setup using Install Shield 6.0, the captured info becomes ~2.5 GB. When I try to build the .irp it fails to build. I feel it can't able to wrap up some files in the MSI database which is having long path, due to which it is unable to build the ISM / MSI. I excluded those files which it cannot able to build, but still it fails.
If anyone has faced this issue, can you please let me know.
Please Suggest me if I can try any other options.
Thanks,
Indranil

have you checked the package KB? There may not be an entry for developer, but other rational products now install the same way & should give u some insight.
its been a while since i did this but i remember that we went with a silent install using the rational policy updater (rpu - i think that's what it is) and a policy.xml file... Search the IBM support pages, they have that info somewhere on there... Good luck!
