Auto fill logged in user in custom field

Is it possible to have a custom field that would auto populate the person logged into Kace while updating an asset or inventory item?

  • Thanks for the reply, but I was thinking more as auto populated when the user is logged. That way you don't have to manually don't have to put in your username but have it by the user logged in. - josefius 4 years ago
  • That is how you autopopulate from inventory - SMal.tmcc 4 years ago

  • that will auto-populate give it a try. You choose type of "device field" that makes the asset module read the chosen inventory field from the inventory and put it in automatically. Look at the screen shot and you will notice that those 2 entires I am getting from the device field are un-editable. - SMal.tmcc 4 years ago
    • Oh ok, I didn't explain very well, I meant the user logged into Kace looking at the asset. We want this so that we can see who last edited the entry. I'm not sure if this is possible. - josefius 4 years ago
      • you need to enable history to get that - SMal.tmcc 4 years ago

sorry had to run to meeting.

Configure the history you want to track on the left side and then you can view changes on the right.  Do not keep the history too long it will grow your database.
