ASG Software Solutions PathPoint

Hi,

I am trying to install PathPoint through Marimba. It is a nested vendor MSI.It has few custom actions, 3 of custom actions to install ACCESS Runtime MSI, verify if access is isntalled and uninstall.

When i install it on a normal user(with elevated rights through Marimba),it throws error "Microsoft access Runtime not found".But works fine on machine with admin rights.

Is there anyway i can disable the custom action which checks for ACCESS?Only this step needs admin rights. This refers to a Iscript DLL,with reference to function f5 .Will deleting this custom action help?

Thanks,
Disha

I'm willing to bet that this is the old InstallShield DCOM permissions chesnut. On the target machine, try changing the 'Identity' for the 'InstallShield Driver' from 'Interactive User' to 'Launching User' using DCOMCNFG, then re-try the installation/deployment.

There's a script here somewhere that will set the Identity. Search for 'InstallShield DCOM permissions'. A Google will turn it up, too.
