I am having a heck of a time trying to distribute this package to my users. I am using the following command line which should work:

msiexec.exe /i AcroRead.msi/ TRANSFORMS=AcroRead.mst /L*vx C:\Reader.log

I am using the software installation account. The client receives the package just fine and starts the advertisement. The event viewer on the machine indicates that the installer service get sent a start control, starts running, and then 10 minutes (to the second) gets sent a stop control.

The Reader.log output is:

Does anyone have any clues as to what may be going wrong or more logs I can check to indicate where the problem is?

Try:
msiexec.exe /i AcroRead.msi TRANSFORMS=AcroRead.mst /L*vx C:\Reader.log
(remove the trailing '/' from the 'AcroRead.msi/')

That did it. It always seems like the easiest solution when you finally figure it out... :)
