Administrative Installation Point
I have an PaintShop application.....
I created an MST for cutomizing the changes like serial key property, unchecking dialog box etc......
After this i created administrative installation point for msi and mst.
After AIP MST wont get extracted along with the files. We need to copy the MST manually.
But after extraction if i try installing the MSI alone,it is showing the serial num key already appearing in a disable state.
As per my knowledge it should come only when i install the MST along with it.Why MSI alone is able to show the Serialkey where as the other changes it is not able to perform without MST.
[:@]I am not getting from where the msi is taking that serial key...
I checked the Dialogs There is no custom action included in that event...
Plz help me out in this..........

Eswari,
When you created the administrative installation point, did you have to specify the serialkey?
In which case your installation point now contains that serial key information.
You should now create your .MST - using your admin point copy of the base .MSI/files.
Hope this makes sense,
Thanks,
Dunnpy

Initially it is a vendor msi....
If try to install vendor msi in non-silent mode it will ask for the serial key....To suppress this i have included this serial key property in the MST...
After creating the MST only i created AIP......
The MSI in the AIP if i install alone is showing the serial key....
Please help me out...........

VBSCab and Eswari,
I believe Eswari is refering to another post (by accident): http://itninja.com/question/migrate-2000-professional-workstation-snmp602
AngelID, is it possible to move the post of Eswari -> RE: Administrative Installation Point - 9/13/2007 4:32:35 AM to the correct original thread?
