Software Deployment

i have tried capturing an activeX install with wininstall, the final package is coming back with the CODEBASE missing. I was told that if i did an regsvr32 on the control that it would automatically get populated withing the downloaded program files folder, that never happened either..anything im missing? should the control list in downloaded program files upon running regsvr32 on it or am i missing something.

im wanting to switch over to appdeploy/installshield, will this take care of these issues or not worth it.
