K1000 Software Management
Can the K1000 collect information on software usage from devices with the agent? Can it tell if the programs are getting used or not. This would be great for metered software that we pay for based on usage or even the need to have it installed if not being used.

Yes, the K1000 supports software metering through the use of the Software Catalog. You can indicate per title in the catalog whether or not it is a metered title. Once that is enabled you can start to generate reports showing usage data. In my experience the data is not as robust as a dedicated tool like Sassafras KeyServer but it does get the job done.
