Screenshots below are taken from the 12.04.1 LTS release that has the 5.4.5315 agent installed. 

To determine what version of Ubuntu is installed, run one of the following commands in terminal and it should return the version number:

  • lsb_release -a
  • cat /etc/issue



 

Force a manual check in from the client:

Open terminal (Click Dash Home [purple icon in the lsb_release screenshot above] and type terminal in the search in 12.04)

Type and run the following command:

sudo /opt/dell/kace/bin/runkbot 2 0



Enable debug:

Open terminal (Click Dash Home [purple icon in the lsb_release screenshot above] and type terminal in the search in 12.04)

Type the following command:

sudo /opt/dell/kace/bin/AMPTools debug=true


This will cause the agent to stop the AMP service, apply debug and restart the service.  The log files will be located in: /var/dell/kace

The log location above can be accessed by clicking on Home Folder (Orange folder in screenshot) and clicking File System on the window that pops up, then navigating to /var/dell/kace.
