WisePathReplacement table

Can anyone give me insight on what the Attribute column in this table indicates?

I put in the number 2 and I am getting the behavior I expected but I don't have a clear understadnding of what the number 2 means? Or what would happen if I used 0 or 1, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks VBScab,

I looked at the link and did a search for wisepathreplacement and attribute. However, I still was not able to locate the information I need. Any other assistance is appreciated!

Because this blog is in german, i translate it for you:
1 = No backslash at the end.
2 = Convert path into 8.3 format.
3 = (1+2) Do both of them.
