Quicktime install 7.74.80.86

I am trying to deploy Quicktime using the k2000 with a scripted install.. I went through a lot of scripts and nothing seems to work.. The lastest attempt seems to start it but I have the silent install wrong because a box pops up with different options I can't select.

msiexec.exe /q ALLUSERS=2 /m MSIUIGCO /i "QuickTime.msi" TRANSFORMS=quicktime.mst /norestart msiexec.exe /q ALLUSERS=2 /m MSIUIGCO /i "AppleApplicationSupport.msi" TRANSFORMS=quicktime.mst /norestart

  • One, why bother creating a MIF file (/m)? That's relevant only for SMS and you're using a KBox.

Two, do you have a typo in the second line? You seem to be atempting to use one transform for two MSIs...

Three, do your command lines work when run "manually", i.e. on your test VM?

Four, always, always, ALWAYS create a verbose log. Storage is cheap and having logs will save you HOURS of pain when things go wrong. - anonymous_9363 10 years ago
    • lol love your replies VBS.. always entertaining:)

Also wonder why the dep is installed after the main application. I believe QT has CA/Conditions that will halt install unless the dep is installed first or the conditions are removed. - dandirk 10 years ago
  • Create a log during installation and for sure you will find the problem. I can see only one problem in this two commands, the same mst files is used for both installation, are you sure that this is OK? - terebent 10 years ago
