QuickTime 7.7.3 - QuickTime.qtp

Hi,

I currently have an installation that has to work on Windows XP and Windows 7 32 and 64 bit.  The installation I have works fine on 32 bit but the main job is to get it working for Windows 7 64 bit.  And there lies the trouble.  I am using Wise Package Studio 8.0.

Hints and tips suggest that ProgramData\Apple Computer\Quicktime folder is where to place the QuickTime.qtp file so that all users get the correct settings.  Doesn't appear to work.  The file is placed there fine.  The settings seem to come from a folder C:\users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\Quicktime.

Has anyone battled this issue also on Windows 7 64 bit?  Any help would be appreciated!!

Cheers

Quicktime is a pain. This appears to be where my config file is getting saved, so try here instead on 64 bit: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\Quicktime (just the qtp file)

There is a registry key as well which you might need to modify.

I have documented the process in my blog and there is a readymade script which you can use.
